Preparation steps

Separate the egg and the beat the egg yolks with half the sugar over a hot water bath until light and creamy (preferably with an electric mixer). Remove from the heat, stir until cold and gradually mix in the mascarpone. Beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until stiff and fold into the mascarpone. Whip the cream until stiff and fold into the mixture.

Rinse and trim the strawberries and cut into pieces.

Mix the coffee with brandy. Dip half of the ladyfingers in the coffee mixture, break into pieces and place in serving glasses. Place half the strawberries on top. Top the strawberries with half of the cream and continue with another layer of soaked ladyfingers in this manner. Finish with remaining strawberries and cream. Refrigerate before serving for at least 30 minutes.
