Rinse apples, wipe dry, cut into eighths, remove seeds and cut crosswise into very thin slices. Place in a bowl.

Rinse lemon half in hot water, wipe dry and finely grate the peel. Squeeze out the lemon juice and mix the juice and zest with the apple slices.
