Preparation steps

Mix the softened butter with sugar and salt until fluffy. Sift the flour into the butter mixture with baking powder and mix everything quickly into a dough. Form a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and let stand for 2 hours in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 190°C (approximately 350°F). Line a baking sheet with paper. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 1 1/2 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thick. Cut dough into 6-7 cm circles (approximately 2 1/2 inches). Place circles on a greased baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes. Remove and let cool.

Rinse strawberries, remove stems and cut into slices, place in a large bowl and sprinkle with sugar. Whip the cream.

To serve shortcakes, arrange on plates, top with strawberries and serve with cream.
