1 Wash, sort and hull the strawberries and put into a bowl.
2 Mash with a potato masher.
3 Squeeze the lemon juice into the strawberries and mix.
6 Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze.
7 Alternatively, transfer the mixture to a wide metal dish and put into the freezer. Stir vigorously every 20-30 minutes for the first 2-3 hours to prevent any large ice crystals from forming. Freeze the ice cream for 5 hours altogether.
