250 grams sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
4 eggs
500 grams Pastry flour
3 tsps Baking powder

Cut the butter into pieces and add to the sugar and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl.

Mix until fluffy with an electric mixer. Add the salt, along with any other spices and flavors you desire, and mix into a smooth mixture.

Gradually stir in the eggs.

Sift over the flour and baking powder and beat together until smooth and creamy.

The batter should be heavy and fall from the spoon. If it is too firm, stir in some extra milk.

Pour the batter evenly into a greased baking pan dusted with flour.

Bake for 60-70 minutes at about 180°C (approximately 350ºF).

Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before releasing from the pan.
