- 6 ½ cups cooking Apple (e. g. Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 4 Tbsps lemon juice
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup Fruit Vinegar
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 2 Tbsps brown Mustard seed
- 1 tsp black Sesame seeds
- 4 Star anise
- 1 Tbsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp salt
- To garnish
- Star anise
Preparation steps

Place the apple in a pan and mix in the lemon juice, sugar and vinegar. Add the chilli powder, mustard seeds, sesame, star anise, turmeric and salt.

Bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Boil to reduce (do not cover) for approx. 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
3.
Fill the chutney into hot, clean preserving jars. Seal tightly and let cool.
4.
To serve, place in small bowls, garnished with star anise if wished.
