1 carrot
1 stalk Celery

50 streaky Smoked bacon (Diced)
1 garlic
125 milliliters Red wine
125 milliliters Beef broth
1 teaspoon chopped rosemary
4 tablespoons olive oil
250 grams mixed Ground meat
1 small can peeled tomatoes
2 tablespoons Tomato paste
400 grams Spaghetti
salt

50 grams finely grated Parmesan
100 grams finely grated Hard cheese (such as Emmentaler)

Preparation steps

Peel and dice the carrot and celery. Peel and finely chop the onion. Peel the garlic and squeeze through a garlic press. Heat the oil in a skillet and sauté the onion, garlic and bacon until the onion is translucent. Add the carrot and celery and sauté briefly. Add the ground meat and cook, stirring until crumbly and no longer pink.

Pour in the wine and broth, season with salt and pepper. Stir in the  tomato paste and the peeled tomatoes and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally for 1 1/2 hours. Stir in the rosemary. Mix together the Parmesan and hard cheese. Preheat the broiler with the rack 6 inches from the heat.

Cook the spaghetti according to package directions, drain well and mix with the sauce. Place in a broiler proof pan or dish, sprinkle with the cheese mixture and broil until golden brown.
