50 grams Celery root
1 onion
1 garlic
50 streaky Smoked bacon
4 tablespoons olive oil
400 grams mixed Ground meat
1 tablespoon Tomato paste
100 milliliters dry Red wine
150 milliliters rich Beef broth
salt

300 grams crushed tomatoes (canned)
400 grams Spaghetti
Basil (for garnish)
freshly grated Parmesan

Preparation steps

Peel and dice the carrot and celery root. Peel onion and garlic and finely chop. Cut the bacon into small cubes. Heat the oil, sauté the onion and garlic and add the bacon. Add remaining vegetables and sauté briefly. Add ground meat and cook until crumbly over high heat while stirring. Add the tomato paste, wine and broth. Season with salt and pepper and stir in the peeled tomatoes. Simmer, stirring occasionally, about 1 hour, adding more broth if needed.

Boil the spaghetti in salted water until al dente.

Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Drain the spaghetti and transfer to plates. Pour the sauce over the spaghetti and garnish with basil. Top with Parmesan and freshly ground pepper.
