Slit vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out seeds. In a pot, bring milk, vanilla bean, vanilla bean seeds, and sugar to a boil. Just before milk comes to a boil, remove vanilla bean. Add semolina to hot milk and stir until thickened.

Divide pudding among bowls. Rinse berries and pat dry. Let puddings cool slightly, then top each serving with a generous amount of berries. Sprinkle with sugar and serve with fresh whipped cream.
