Scones with Raspberry Jam and Clotted Cream
The lactic acid bacteria from yoghurt protect the mucous membranes in the intestines and promote a healthy intestinal flora. The milk product also contains calcium, which strengthens our bones and teeth.
Scones are a typical English pastry, which is served at tea time. They taste especially delicious with raspberry jam and clotted cream.
Mix ingredients together and knead until the dough is smooth and solid. Roll the dough out until it is 2 cm (approximately 1/2-inch) thick. Cut out rounds, brush the tops with beaten egg yolk, place on a baking tray and into an oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for 5 minutes. When rounds are a golden color, check if cooked by inserting a toothpick.
Cool on a wire rack. Cut scones and sprinkle to taste with clotted cream and raspberry jam.
