Trim and rinse the bell peppers and cut into pieces of about 2 x 3 cm (approximately 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches).
Leaving some large sausages whole, cut the rest into 4 cm long pieces (approximately 1 1/4 inch). Leave the smaller sausages whole. Carve the whole sausages with a knife several times diagonally.
Thread the sausages and bell peppers alternately onto skewers. Attach the large sausages on both ends.
Brush the kebabs with beer and cook under the broiler for about 8 minutes, turning occasionally.
