Sauerkraut and Bratwurst Sandwiches
Simmer the sauerkraut with the beef broth and the bay leaf gently in a closed pot 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally and maybe even add a little broth. Season with salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar. Brown the sausages on all sides in a pan in hot oil. Cut the rolls horizontally, spread the lids with coarse mustard and cover the bottoms with the drained sauerkraut. Place the sausages on top and serve.
