4 slices Sirloin steak (about 180 grams)
4 onions
salt
freshly ground peppers
vegetable oil (for frying)
150 milliliters Beef broth
100 milliliters Dark beer
1 teaspoon cornstarch
ground Caraway
Pastry flour (for dusting)

Preparation steps

Rinse meat slices and pat dry. Peel onions. Finely chop one onion and thinly slice remaining two onions. Season meat with with salt and pepper and fry in 2 tablespoons hot oil until browned on both sides.

Remove meat from pan. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden-brown. Deglaze with broth and beer. Boil and slightly reduced. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water and stir into sauce until thickened. Season with salt, caraway and pepper. Return meat to the pan and cook over low heat until no longer pink, 3-4 minutes.

Sprinkle onion strips with flour and fry in hot oil until golden-brown, 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Serve beef slices with sauce, topped with fried onions. Serve with potato gratin if desired.
