225 grams Pastry flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
50 grams butter
50 grams sugar
50 grams raisins (or sultanas)
150 milliliters milk

Preparation steps

1.

Combine the flour and baking powder in a large bowl. Cut the butter into cubes and distribute over the flour. Add the sugar and raisins and form a well in the center. Pour the milk into the well and knead with hands to form a smooth dough, adding a bit more milk or flour if too dry or sticky.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll the dough out onto a floured surface until about 1 cm (approximately 3/8 inch) thick. Cut into circles about 5 cm (approximately 2 inches) in diameter using a cookie cutter or glass. Place onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until risen and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
