For the dumplings
500 grams Quark
3 eggs
1 packet Vanilla sugar
5 Tbsps Pastry flour
salt
60 grams Semolina flour
60 grams Corn flakes
50 grams butter
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp Ground cinnamon

For the compote
700 grams Plum
60 grams sugar
cinnamon (The 1/2 tsp)
Ground clove (The 1/2 tsp)
2 centiliters Rum

Preparation steps

For the dumplings: Whisk together the eggs and vanilla sugar. Add the cottage cheese, flour, and semolina and mix well.

Bring a large pot of water with 2 tsp sugar to a boil, then reduce the temperature to medium heat. Shape the quark mixture into dumplings using two wet spoons and carefully drop into the simmering water. Once the dumplings rise to the surface, they are done.

Crumble cornflakes with a rolling pin and fry lightly with the butter in a pan. Arrange the finished quark dumplings on plate and sprinkle with the toasted corn flakes. Mix sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle the dumplings with the cinnamon sugar and serve with plum compote immediately.

For the compote: Rinse the plums, cut in half, remove the pits and cut into wedges. Combine with the sugar, cinnamon, cloves and rum in a saucepan and stir. Simmer over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until they are soft. Remove from heat and let cool.
