mincemeat (British fruit paste)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Pastry flour (for dusting)

Preparation steps

1.

Roll out 2/3 of the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut out 12 cm (approximately 4 3/4 inch) long "boats". Brush the edges with egg yolk and place 1 tablespoon mincemeat on each, leaving about a 0.5 cm (approximately 1/4 inch) border.

Thinly roll out the remaining thawed puff pastry and cut into 10 cm (approximately 4 inch) long strips of 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thickness. Arrange the strips on the mincemeat and bake in an oven preheated to 200°C (approximately 400°F) convection about 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the pan and let cool.

Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
