Puff Pastry Apple Pie
- For the dough
- 250 grams
- 1 pinch
- 2 tablespoons
- 125 milliliters
Form the flour into a mound. Make a well in the center and pour in salt, egg yolks and oil. Begin kneading and add warm water until a smooth and slightly shiny dough is formed. Form the dough into a ball and sprinkle with flour. Cover and allow to rest for about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).
Peel the apples, quarter and remove the cores. Cut the apple quarters into thin slices. Combine the apple slices with the rum, orange blossom water and sugar.
On a floured work surface, roll out the dough out into a large rectangle. The dough should be thin enough to see your hand through.
Melt the butter and brush over half of the dough, lengthwise. Spread the apple mixture over the buttered dough. Carefully roll up the dough. Wind the roll around the baking dish, brush with remaining butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Bake for about 50 minutes, until golden brown. If the dough starts becoming too dark during baking, cover with aluminum foil. Serve hot or cold.
