1 cube Yeast

60 grams sugar
1 pinch salt
1 egg yolk
1 egg
80 grams butter

Preparation steps

For the dough: Mix yeast with a little lukewarm milk and a little sugar until smooth. Put flour into a bowl, make a well in the center and add yeast mixture. Stir in a little flour, cover and let sit in a warm place about 20 minutes. Combine remaining sugar, egg, egg yolk and milk and knead from the middle of the flour. Add salt and softened butter and process to a firm dough.

Continue to knead until dough is shiny, cover and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place. Again knead and shape on a floured surface into 4 dumplings. For each piece, make a well in the center and fill with plum jam. Re-form into a dumpling. Cover and let sit about 30 minutes.

To cook, place dumplings into boiling salted water and leave for about 12 minutes. Remove dumplings with a slotted spoon and drain well. Melt 50 grams (approximately 1 3/4 ounces) butter. Roll dumplings in poppy seeds, sprinkle with butter and dust with powdered sugar. Decorate with figures as desired and serve.
