250 grams Pastry flour
½ cube Yeast
½ cup Milk
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 pinch Salt
1 Egg yolk
12 tablespoons Butter
100 grams Plum butter
50 grams Butter
50 grams ground Poppy seeds
Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preparation steps

Step 1/4

Whisk yeast with lukewarm milk and sugar until smooth, add flour, salt and egg yolk. Melt butter, add to the mixture and knead into a firm dough. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour in a warm place. 

Step 2/4

Knead on a floured surface and shape into a roll. Divide into 6 equal pieces. Flatten each piece slightly and top each with 3 teaspoons of plum butter, form into dumplings. 

Step 3/4

Let rest on a lightly floured surface for about 30 minutes. Bring salted water to a boil and cook for about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4/4

Remove dumplings with a slotted spoon and drain well. Melt butter. Sprinkle dumplings with poppy seeds, drizzle with butter and dust with powdered sugar. Serve.
