The Italian dessert seduces our senses! The best thing about it: Panna cotta is prepared quickly and easily with only five ingredients. The whipped cream is also good for the eyes and skin. 100 millilitres of whipped cream provide 275 micrograms of vitamin A, which is a good third of the average daily requirement. Our eyes, skin and mucous membranes are delighted with this.
What goes with panna cotta? The classic Italian dessert is served with raspberry or strawberry sauce. In addition to berries, orange slices, nectarines or apricots are also suitable as a complement. If you like it crispy, you can also add chopped almonds to the panna cotta. Chocolate fans can also conjure up a smart chocolate sauce, which also harmonises very well with the vanilla.
Soak gelatine in a bowl of cold water. Slit open vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out seeds. Combine cream with sugar and vanilla bean and cook on low heat for about 8 minutes. Remove vanilla bean from cream. Remove pan from heat. Squeeze out gelatine and add to vanilla cream. Stir to dissolve. Rinse 4 ramekins with cold water, pour vanilla cream into them and refrigerate for 5 hours.
Rinse and dry strawberries. Invert panna cotta on dessert plates and garnish with strawberries. Serve.
