Oven Baked Nuts

- 7 ozs almonds
- 4 ozs Cashews
- 4 ozs Macadamia Nuts
- 4 ozs Pecan
- 2 Tbsps liquid honey
- 1 Tbsp Canola oil
- 1 dried chili pepper
- 2 tsps ground paprika (hot)
- 1 tsp Curry powder
- Sea salt
In a bowl, combine nuts with honey and oil. Mix well.
Crumble chile pepper and add to the nuts with paprika, curry and salt.
Very thoroughly mix until all the nuts are coated with the spices.
Spread nut mixture in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 225°C (fan: 200°C, gas mark 3-4) (approximately 425°F/convection 400°F), turning frequently, for about 7-8 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Serve with cocktails or wine.

Healthy, because
While these nuts are high in fat, it is primarily healthy, unsaturated fatty acids. These "good" fats lower the level of "bad" cholesterol in the blood. The nuts also provide plenty of vitamin E, whch increases the body's resistance to free radicals.
Even smarter
Nuts can quickly become rancid if stored incorrectly because they are so rich in fat. They should therefore be kept cool, dark, dry and airy until they are consumed. Opened packs of nuts are best kept in well-sealed containers.
