Ingredients

Preparation steps

Preheat oven to 350°F

Combine butter, flour and salt in food processor. Pulse until the mixture resembles grated Parmesan cheese. Drizzle in half of the cold water and pulse until the mixture forms a rough ball, adding more water as needed. Remove dough from processor, form it into a disk shape, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes prior to use.

In small saucepan melt butter and cook just until it starts to brown. Transfer butter into electric mixer bowl, add sugar and beat together on medium speed. Gradually ass the flour. Once the flour is incorporated, add eggs one at a time. Beat in the vanilla bean seed. Set aside.

In large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add apples ans sugar and cook until they start to soften, 6 to 7 minutes. Toss in raisins and set aside.

Remove dough from refrigerator 15 minutes prior to assembly time.

Dust a clean work surface lightly with flour. Roll dough out to approximately 1/8 inch thickness and lay it over a 9-inch tart pan. Add filling mixture to the bottom of the pan and top with the apple mixture. Neatly trim edges of dough around the pan.

Bake tart about 40 minutes or until top is golden brown and lightly crisp. Remove from oven and cool slightly before serving.
