- ¾ cup butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- Vanilla bean (seeds scraped)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 ⅛ cups chopped Macadamia Nuts
- 1 egg
- To decorate
- sliced Macadamia Nuts
Preparation steps
1.
Beat the butter, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl until fluffy.
2.
Stir in the vanilla and cinnamon, followed by the flour, baking powder and nuts. Beat in the egg to form a smooth dough. Shape into a ball and wrap in cling film Chill for 1 hour.
3.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
4.
Roll into small balls with wetted hands and place about 3 cm|1" apart on the baking trays.
5.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden. Sprinkle with the flaked nuts. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
