- 100 grams butter
- 100 grams sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons grated Lemon peel
- 60 milliliters lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon ground Poppy seeds
- 150 grams Pastry flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- For decorating

Melt the butter and let cool slightly. In a bowl mix the melted butter with the sugar, eggs, 1 pinch of salt, lemon juice. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder and poppy seeds and mix into the egg mixture. Stir briefly, until the dry ingredients are moist.
Put paper baking cups in the wells of the muffin tin and fill 2/3 with batter. Bake in a preheated oven (180°C, approximately 350°F) for about 25 minutes. Remove, allow to cool slightly in the tin, then remove the muffins and let cool.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, put in jars and insert a candle in each one, as desired.
