100 grams Ladyfinger (with sugar crust)
500 milliliters milk
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 Vanilla bean
3 tablespoons sugar
1 egg yolk
400 grams Strawberries
50 grams Almond slivers
2 tablespoons Strawberry liqueur (if desired)
mint (for garnishing)
200 grams Whipped cream
1 tablespoon Vanilla sugar

Preparation steps

Cut ladyfingers in 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thick slices. Rinse and dry strawberries, slice large strawberry for garnishing. Cut remaining strawberries into wedges and combine with liqueur. Heat milk in a saucepan. Combine cornstarch with 5-6 tablespoons of cold milk, sugar and vanilla seeds. As soon as milk starts to boil, add cornstarch mixture, stirring. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and stir in egg yolks. Whip heavy cream with vanilla sugar until stiff, pipe 2/3 of cream into into a piping bag with rose tip, refrigerate. Fold the rest of whipped cream into milk vanilla cream.

Toast almonds in a dry pan.

Add 2 tablespoons of strawberries into each glass, top with 1/3 of vanilla cream, some ladyfingers and a pair of almond flakes. Continue layering dessert in this manner until all ingredients are used. Pipe out cream rosettes on top and garnish with almonds, strawberry slices and mint. Serve.
