Strawberry Jam (or raspberry jam)

Preparation steps

Put the flour, butter, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon zest and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl. Mix together briefly with a dough hook then use your hands to form a smooth dough.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (top and bottom heat). Line an ovenproof baking dish (ca. 20 x 24 cm) with parchment paper.

Roll out a little less than one third of the dough between two lightly greased sheets of cling film. Remove the top sheet and, with the help of the bottom sheet, carefully transfer the rolled out dough into the dish. Remove the cling film and brush the dough with the jam.

Roll out the remaining dough into the shape of the baking dish between two lightly greased sheets of cling film. Remove the top sheet of cling film. Using the bottom sheet, carefully top the jam covered dough.
5.
Place the baking dish in the middle rack of the oven; bake for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown. Cool in the baking dish. Slice into 4 to 5 cm (length ways) bars. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
