For the crust

green Bell pepper (seeds removed, chopped)

garlic (finely chopped)
1 ⅛ cups

dried oregano
freshly ground Black pepper
1 ¼ cups
mozzarella cheese (thinly sliced)

Preparation steps

1.
For the crust: mix together the flour, yeast and salt in a mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour in the water and oil. Mix to a soft, fairly wet dough.

Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Put into a lightly greased bowl, cover with oiled cling film and leave in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.

Heat the oven to 200°C (180° fan) 400°F gas 6.

Heat half the oil in a frying pan and quickly brown the mince, then remove from the pan and set aside.

Add the remaining oil to the pan and cook the onion, carrots and pepper for 8-10 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until softened.

Put into a bowl and stir in the minced beef, passatta and oregano. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
7.
Put the filling into a 25cm|10"baking dish and place the cheese slices on top.
8.
Knead the dough on a floured surface and roll out into a round to fit the dish. Place on top of the filling, pressing down on the edges.
9.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the crust is cooked through and the filling is bubbling.
