150 grams dried Figs
150 grams mixed, candied Fruit
150 grams powdered sugar
80 grams honey
Wafer (to lay out the form)

1 generous pinch ground cilantro
½ teaspoon ground ginger
1 generous pinch grated Nutmeg
2 tablespoons Pastry flour
butter (for greasing)

Preparation steps

Fry almonds and nuts in a pan briefly while stirring. Let cool and chop coarsely. Dice figs and candied fruit into small cubes, place them in a bowl and mix with spices and nuts. Combine powdered sugar and honey in a metal bowl over a pot of hot (not boiling) water. Over low heat, stirr constantly until the mixture melts and becomes stringy then allow to cool slightly while continuing to stir.

Stir honey solution into prepared fruit and nut mixture and mix in 1-2 tablespoons of flour. Create a flat shape (rectangular or round, depending on the wafers), coat with butter, line it with wafers, fill in with dough and flatten it. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C (approximately 300°F) for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Garnish with powdered sugar and wrap in wax paper to present as a gift or serve.
