Preparation steps

Toast almonds in a hot frying pan. Remove and cool.

Preheat oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

Mix flour with sugar, a pinch of salt, baking powder, almond extract, 3 eggs and Amaretto in a bowl. Knead until smooth. Knead almonds in. If needed, add more flour so that dough is not sticky.

Divide dough into 5 equal portions, shape into rolls, sprinkle with flour and let stand briefly. Whisk remaining egg. Place rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with egg. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove and slightly cool. Cut diagonally into 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) slices and spread again on baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 160°C (approximately 325°F).
