Preparation steps

For the dough: Combine flour, vanilla sugar and sugar. Add pieces of butter and vanilla flavor and knead quickly into a solid pastry. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes. Thinly roll out on a floured surface and cut out 50-60 stars.

Place stars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 12 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Remove and let cool on a wire rack.

For the topping: Combine powdered sugar and lemon juice and color as desired. Add a little water if needed. Spread onto cooled cookies and sprinkle with sprinkles. Let set, then serve.
