Preparation steps

For the cookies: Combine all dough ingredients, knead until smooth. Wrap with plastic and chill for and at least 3 hours. Put dough on a floured surface and roll out to 3 mm (approximately 1/10 inch) thick. Cut with 2 different sizes of cookie cutter. Put flowers on a tray lined with parchment paper and bake in an oven preheated to 175°C (approximately 350°F) for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

For the decoration: Combine powdered sugar, lemon juice and a few drops of food coloring. Brush icing onto larger flowers and top with smaller flowers. Decorate with icing and sprinkles, as desired. Allow to dry completely and serve.
