For the dough
250 grams Pastry flour
½ teaspoon Baking powder
1 pinch salt
2 Limes (zest)
125 grams butter
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons Cachaça (from Brazil)
For glaze and decoration
150 grams powdered sugar
2 centiliters Cachaça
1 tablespoon Lime juice
yellow Food coloring
50 grams finely diced Candied lemon

Preparation steps

Knead the specified ingredients quickly a pastry dough. Form into a round shape, wrap in foil and place in refrigerator for 2 hours and let cool. Place the dough on lightly floured surface and roll out until about 3-4 mm thick and cut out different cookies (such as stars, hearts, Christmas trees, ovals, circles, etc.). Place on a lined baking sheet with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (approximately 375°F) for  about 10-12 minutes. Place cookies on a wire rack and let cool.

Mix the icing sugar into a bowl and add cachaca and lime juice to a thicken to a glaze. Add yellow food coloring to make a light yellow color and glaze the cookies with it. Sprinkle with the lemon zest and candied lemon and let dry.
