1 Vanilla bean
7 ozs brown Rock candy
26 ozs alcohol (such as corn)

Preparation steps

1.

Remove the elderberries from the vines and rinse thoroughly. Discard any green berries. Slit the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Mix with the berries, rock sugar, and liquor and place into bottles. Seal tightly, and let infuse for 8 weeks in a dark, cool place. Shake occasionally during the 8 week period.

Pour the liquid through a fine strainer. Remove the elderberries, and pout into clean bottles.
