For the sponge cake
250 grams Bread flour
3 eggs
125 grams soft butter
butter (for the pan)
120 grams sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Baking powder
150 milliliters milk
1 packet Vanilla sugar
For the honey sauce
2 lemons (juice)
150 milliliters water
4 tablespoons honey
4 tablespoons sugar
1 organic lemon (peel cut into thin strips)

Preparation steps

For the cake: Beat the butter with vanilla and sugar until fluffy. Beat the eggs and salt for another 2 minutes. Beat until smooth. Mix the flour and baking powder. Gradually stir in the flour. Add the milk and stir until smooth. If the dough is too thick, add more milk.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Butter and flour a bundt cake pan. Transfer the dough in the bundt pan. Bake until golden brown for 35-40 minutes. Turn out of the pan and allow to cool.

For the honey syrup: Str the lemon juice, water, honey, sugar, and lemon peel. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook to a thick syrup. Drizzle over the warm cake generously and let sit for 2-3 hours. Serve cold.
