Preparation steps

1.

Soak beans in a bowl of water overnight. The next day, drain beans and combine with 1.5 liters (approximately 6 1/3 cups) water. Season with salt and add bay leaves. Bring to a boil. Peel and cut onion into small pieces. In a pan, sauté onion in 2 tablespoons oil until translucent. Chop sauerkraut and add to onion along with a little water. Simmer about 15 minutes, then pour mixture into the pot of beans and cook until beans are tender.

2.

In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons oil. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour and sauté lightly. Press garlic through a garlic press into the pan, remove from heat and sprinkle with paprika. Let cool, then stir in cold water until smooth. Stir mixture into soup. Cook, stirring, 3-4 minutes more. Finally, stir in sour cream. Season with vinegar and sugar. Fry sausage and cut into slices. To serve, stir sausage slices into soup and garnish with dill and sour cream.
