Combine the soft cheese and cream into a bowl and mix until smooth and creamy. Season well with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and lemon juice.

Halve the cheese mixture and stir the tomato puree and paprika into one half.

Wash the chives, shake dry and snip into small pieces.
4.
Spread half of the slices of bread with the plain cheese spread and the other half with the tomato cheese spread. Place the slices with the plain cheese spread on top of the slices with tomato cheese spread (spread side up). Then using a heart-shaped cutter cut out 16 hearts and sprinkle with chives.
5.
Arrange the sandwich hearts on four plates in the shape of 4-leaf clover leaves and add a piece of spring onion to each to form the stalk.
6.
Cut some of the remaining spring onion into rings and scatter around the sandwiches on the plates, if you wish.
