For the cake
70 grams Marzipan
60 grams butter (softened)
60 grams sugar
2 eggs
1 pinch salt
100 grams Pastry flour
½ teaspoon Baking powder
butter (for brushing the pan)
For the icing
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 Whipped cream
Red Food coloring
For the Rose sugar
1 handful Rose petal unsprayed (color as desired)
5 tablespoons sugar

Preparation steps

For the cake, grease a heart-shaped cake pan. Beat the marzipan and butter until creamy. Add the sugar, eggs and salt and beat until well blended. Sift the flour and baking powder over and carefully fold in. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated 160°C (approximately 325°F) oven for about 30 minutes. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Carefully remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.

Place the rose petals with the sugar in a blender and finely shred. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar and cream until smooth. Tint with food coloring as desired. Spread over the cake and garnish with rose sugar. Let stand until icing is dry
