500 grams Pastry flour
2 teaspoons Baking powder
200 grams sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
2 eggs
200 grams butter
30 grams grated Chocolate
3 tablespoons ground Hazelnuts
2 egg whites

Preparation steps

1.

Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and vanilla sugar together, make a well in the center, add the eggs to the well and the chopped butter around the edges. Divide into 2 portions and mix the chocolate and nuts into 1 portion.

Wrap in plastic wrap, separately, and refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll out each portion of dough separately into rectangles around 1 cm (approximately 1/3 inch) thick.

Cut into 0.5 cm (approximately 1/4 inch) thick strips. Glue each plain strip to a chocolate strip using the whisked egg whites and then cut diagonally into 2.5 cm (approximately 1 inch) diamonds. Set on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (approximately 350°F) until light golden brown.
