Grilled Marinated Herring
Preheat the barbecue grill.
Rinse the fish, pat dry and score the skin several times. Mix the salt, pepper, lemon juice, and oil in a bowl. Pass garlic through a press into the marinade. Coat the fish inside and outside with the marinade. Place fish on the preheated grill over medium heat and cook until golden brown, occasionally turning. Brush fish frequently with the marinade. Serve alongside grilled shrimp, if desired.
