These sandwiches are packed with tons of rich protein from the chicken, ham, bacon and cheese.

Replace the bacon in these sandwiches with turkey bacon to cut the fat a bit.

4 Chicken breasts (about 3-4 oz)

1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 egg
2 Tbsps Parmesan (grated)
2 Tbsps butter
8 slices Sandwich bread
8 slices Bacon
2 Tbsps sun-dried tomato pesto
6 ozs Cheese (Gruyère, sliced)
4 slices cooked ham

Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven broiler.

Rinse the chicken breasts, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper. Sauté 2–3 minutes in a pan in hot oil on both sides until golden brown. Reduce heat to low for 3–4 minutes until done. Then cut into bite-size pieces.

Whisk egg with grated Parmesan. Drag the bread slices through the egg mixture and sauté in a pan in hot butter on both sides until golden brown.

Fry the bacon in a pan without oil until golden brown. Spread 4 of the bread slices thinly with pesto. Then cover each with a layer of the cheese, ham, bacon, and chicken breast. Top with remaining bread slices. Cook under broiler until brown and crisp and the cheese starts to melt.

Cut in half to serve if desired.
