Glazed Nut Cake
Cream sugar and butter until creamy. Gradually stir in egg yolks. Mix flour with baking powder and fold into batter. Add lemon peel and rum.
Beat egg whites until stiff and carefully fold into batter along with ground nuts.
Grease a loaf pan with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour in batter and smooth. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for 80 minutes. Remove, cool slightly and then remove from pan.
Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice until thick. Spread over cake. If desired, color some of the icing with cocoa powder and brush over the cake crosswise.
Decoratively top cake with walnuts. Slice and serve.
