- 250 grams Pastry flour
- 1 heaping teaspoon Baking powder
- 175 grams cane sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Gingerbread spice
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 60 grams butter
- Cookie cutter (in male form)
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the dough hook, mix together the flour, baking powder, brown sugar, salt, egg, honey, cinnamon, gingerbread spices and milk.
Cut the butter into small pieces and mix it well with the dough hook.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Transfer the dough to a floured work surface, then knead with your hands until smooth. Thinly roll the dough and with a cookie cutter in the shape of a male cookie cut out cookies.
Place the cookies on the baking sheet spacing them 1-inch apart.
Bake until the cookies are set, about 15 minutes. Remove and cool on a wire rack.
Use the decorating icing to make eyes and a mouth on the cookies and use it to make dots to set the Smarties in for buttons.
