200 grams
dried Pears
200 grams
dried Plums (pitted)
350 grams
mixed Nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pine nuts)
125 grams
melted Butter

1 generous pinch
Fat (for baking dish)
For the topping
1 packet
clear Pie glaze (or cornstarch)
candied cherries
almonds (shelled)

Preparation steps

For the cake: chop nuts coarsely, cut pears and plums into small pieces.

Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks with sugar until fluffy and gradually add butter, flour, nuts, fruit, cinnamon and cloves. Beat egg white until stiff and carefully fold into egg yolk mixture. Grease loaf pan and sprinkle with flour. Pour batter into a pan and smooth. Bake in preheated oven at 175°C (approximately 350°F) for about 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool.

Sprinkle well cooled fruit cake with raisins, almonds, and candied fruit. Combine cornstarch with sugar and warm water in a pan and dissolve. Pour over fruitcake. Let cake stand for 3 days before serving.
