Fruit Clafoutis Bake

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Butter a baking dish.
Mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
Add the butter and beat in the milk and eggs until well mixed.
Spread half the mixture in the dish. Arrange the cherries evenly over the mixture. Sprinkle with kirsch if using.
Cover with the remaining mixture.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes until the batter has set. Sift icing sugar over the top.
