This recipe has less refined sugar than store-bought lemonade, and the cherries used have many anti-aging properties and help regulate your blood pressure!

If you don't have any basil, try using fresh mint leaves instead.

Preparation steps

1.

Reserve 4 cherries for garnish. Remove the pits from the remaining cherries and place half in a small pan with the lemon juice and sugar.

2.
Cook gently over a low heat until the cherries have softened and the sugar has dissolved then strain through a fine sieve and pour the juice into four glasses.
3.

Add the remaining pitted cherries and the torn basil leaves, fill the glasses with ice and top with the lemonade.

4.
Thread the whole cherries onto four straws and serve immediately.
