For the tart dough
14 ounces Puff pastry dough (chilled or frozen)
For the filling
18 Figs
8 ounces Red wine
7 ounces jam sugar
1 pinch cinnamon

Preparation steps

1.

For the filling: Rinse the figs. Cut 12 figs into 3 pieces each and set aside. Purée the remaining figs with the wine. Transfer to a saucepan along with the sugar and bring to a boil, stirring. Boil vigorously for about 4 minutes then set aside to cool.

Roll the dough out on a lightly floured work surface and use to line 4-6 tart pans.

Fill the tarts with a little jam, add the reserved fig wedges, cover with the remaining jam, sprinkle with cinnamon and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (approximately 425°F) for about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.

Serve with coffee, if desired.
