Figs are rich in minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper and are a good source of antioxidant vitamins A and K. This tart is a fun and beautiful way to get those vitamins and minerals.
For an added treat, when serving, cut into slices and add some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
Heat the oven to 350°F. Lightly butter a 9" loose-based flan tin.
Spread the jam evenly over the base of the pastry and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown. Cool in the tin, then place on a serving plate.
