150 grams softened butter
100 grams cane sugar
1 pinch salt
Vanilla bean
300 grams Spelt flour
150 grams ground Hazelnuts
1 teaspoon Baking powder
125 milliliters water
200 milliliters freshly squeezed Orange juice

250 milliliters freshly squeezed Orange juice

Preparation steps

Soak the figs for 3 hours in water, then drain in a colander.

Cream the butter, sugar, salt and vanilla together until fluffy. Mix the flour with the nuts and baking powder and stir gradually into the batter. Stir in the water and orange juice and mix well. Pour the dough into the greased cake pan and smooth out. Bake in an oven preheated to 175°C (approximately 350°F) for 35 minutes. Remove and allow to cool.

Cut the figs into small pieces and arrange over the cake. Mix the apple jelly, honey and orange juice together, spread over the cake and leave to set.

Serve with whipped cream and eggnog.
