1 Pot, 1 Bowl, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 Fork, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Ladle, 4 canning jars (each about 400 ml), 1 Sieve, 1 Kitchen towel

Preparation steps

Rinse jars (each about 400 ml) (each approximately 14 ounces) and their matching lids with boiling water and let dry upside down on a kitchen towel. Cut figs into quarters.

Place figs cut sides up on a cutting board and use a spoon to scrape the flesh out of the skins.

Measure out 800 grams (approximately 1.75 pounds) of fig pulp.

Rinse currants and drain well. Use a fork to strip currants from stems. Measure out 700 grams (approximately 1 1/2 pounds) of currants and mix with figs.

Combine fruit and sugar in a pot and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Continue to boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add cassis and cook for 1 more minute.
