Preparation steps

1.

Butter a baking dish. Cut the crusts from the bread slices, spread on butter, then cut diagonally into triangles. Preheat the oven to 200°C (approxximately 400°F).

Sprinkle a few raisins on bottom of the prepared pan, then arrange bread slices in the pan. Sprinkle with more raisins.

Layer remainder of bread slices and raisins in dish to form 3-4 layers.

Beat the eggs with sugar, vanilla sugar, cream and milk. Pour over bread in the baking dish.

5.

Bake until golden brown, about 40 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
